Mallalli Falls (Kannada:ಮಲ್ಲಳ್ಳಿ ಜಲಪಾತ) is situated in the foothills of pushpagiri mountains, around 144 km from Mangalore and 265 km from Bangalore. The Kumaradhara river is the main watercourse for this waterfall. It later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati -the lifeline of Mangalore at Uppinangadi.
The Water in the falls in only during the monsoon season and there is no availability of water during the other seasons, hence it is advisable for the tourists to travel during the monsoon season to visit the Mallalli falls. the other point to be kept in mind is about the very bad conditions of the roads leading to the falls and even the 4×4 jeeps have a tough time to pass through these roads.
Tourists are also advised to be doubly careful about the dangerous leaches and the poisonous snakes and other deadly insects which are in the area and the tourists have to always watch out for any such harmful creatures.
The best time to visit the falls is between 6 am to 6 pm; after which the area becomes dark and it is not safe for the people visiting the falls as there is no basic security provided to this place since it is out of bounds for any of the authorities to reach this location to secure and safeguard the people visiting the place.
The Kumaradhara river is the main watercourse for this falls. The Kumaradhara later passes through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati- the lifeline of Mangalore at Uppinangadi where lakhs of devotees congregate to see the sangam.
