We have brought down a Chennai based chef especially for this festival so that we can serve authentic food to our people” said Rahul Ballal\, Management head. \nThali Meals\nThe exhaustive special Thali has rasam\, sambhar\, kootu\, chutney and rice items changing every day. On ordering the special Thali\, the waiter brings you panakam and a series of dishes in the Thali\, sweet endings -you are served payasam\, ice cream\, and Tamil Nadu special boli. You can add oodles of ghee and podi to your rice as a generous amount of ghee is placed on your table. \n“An innovative dish we have introduced is the breadfruit (Jeegujje) Biryani in Ambur style. The response has been excellent.” Adds Rahul. DESCRIPTION:Locks of Love\nOn 10 Sep 2017 @ 10AM Onwards\nVenue: Ground Floor\, Forum Fiza Mall\, Mangalore\n  \nLOCKS OF LOVE”\, a hair donation drive\, across Mangaluru for a good cause –Cancer!The Vision is to spread awareness on CANCER.  \n\nSt Agnes College Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in association with Bliss Professional Unisex Salon is organizing “Locks of Love” a hair donation drive on September 10 at Forum Fiza Mall. \nThe drive that will start from 10 am\, aims to create awareness on the importance of hair donation among Mangaloreans. \nWhy donate \nThe hair which we cut in the salon is usually thrown away. However\, the same hair can bring back smiles on faces of women and children who have lost their due to cancer treatment. \nWigs made of natural hair are expensive. The hair collected through the drive ‘Locks of Love’ will be donated to an NGO ‘Sarga Kshetra’ who makes and distributes free wigs to women and children who have lost hair due to chemotherapy and other medical issues. \nHow to donate \nPeople who wish to donate the hair need to be present at the Forum mall on September 10 and professional hair stylists from Bliss Professional Unisex Salon will take care of the rest. \nHowever\, interested donars should make sure: \n\nThe hair is clean and shampooed. Hair should not be oily.\nMinimum hair should be above 6 inches.\nColoured\, bleached or permed hair is not suitable.\nDreadlocks won’t be accepted\nCurly hair may be pulled straight to measure minimum 6 inches.\nGrey hair is not accepted\n\n  \nAnyone can donate \nBoy or girl – it doesn’t matter.  And for the most part it doesn’t matter what type your hair is – straight or curly\, fine or thick\, etc. Donating hair for cancer patients is both easy and rewarding and anyone can do so. The hair is utilized to make a beautiful wig for someone who really needs it to maintain a positive body image after hair loss due to chemotherapy. \nThe need is great \nHair is an important part of our looks and the way we project ourselves to the world. Hair is precious especially to someone who suddenly loses it due to medical reasons. For cancer patients\, hair loss is the most stressful and traumatic side effect of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Their appearance can cause setback to patients who are already enduring physical and emotional hardship. \n\n\nThe event is scheduled to be organised on 10th September\, 2017 10 am onwards\, at the Forum Fiza Mall in Pandeshwar. The hair collected through this event will be donated to A. J Shetty Hospital Kuntikan\, who are a constant support.\n\n \nThe Department of Journalism and Mass Communication\, St Agnes college performed a flash mob on the campus as a curtain raiser event to raise awareness on Hair donation for patients who have lost hair during chemotherapy. This was organised in association with Bliss Professional Unisex Salon who will be grooming and cutting the hair of the donors on Sunday\, September 10 at Forum Fiza Mall\, Mangaluru. The flash mob was organised jointly by the New ocean kids dance academy. \nThis was call to all kind people with luscious locks to donate their tresses. The Department of Journalism at St Agnes College in association with Bliss Professional unisex salon will be organising a hair donation drive on September 10\,2017 at the forum fiza mall. All the hair collected will be going to an NGO Sargakshetra to make wigs for people fighting cancer. As we all know it’s not easy to feel your identity changing while standing in front of the mirror. \nThis event received an overwhelming response and was witnessed by over 1000 students and staff of the college. \nSo pledge your locks for a lovely cause.
